Description
The Thomas Hardwood & Sons ceramic claret jug has a date lozenge is dated 11th September 1875 and we believe the majolica body is by Wedgewood. The claret jug comprises of a silver plated hinged lid and handle with a reclining boy on the top of a Cleopatra head finial lid with a sphynx on top of the handle, falling down onto a majolica body with a date registration diamond with the makers mark TH&S inside a shield for Thomas Hardwood & Sons that operated from 1864 to 1896.
The Thomas Harwood & Sons Wedgewood Majolica Claret Jug is fabulous quality and dates 1875.
Condition Report
The condition of the ceramic claret is good with some crizzling in the body with no chips, cracks or restoration. The silver plate is in good condition. Please see pictures.
