Description
The Victorian Richardson glass claret jug dates to 19th century and the quality of the acid etched Roman soldier and chariot is superb. The claret jug comprises of a acorn finial lid that is date stamped with makers mark for Elkington with the stamped number 12362 with cherub faces around the top of the hinged lid with the most magnificent handle. The body is a work of art with two roman chariots with Roman soldiers and horses with lower acid etched border, resting in a Greek key silver plated base with the bottom base of the glass having been polished with outer blazes cut in. Truly magnificent.
