Description
The Victorian glass decanter dates to 1890 and is a fabulous example of a whisky decanter with added desirability of a Betjemann’s patent lock. The glass decanter comprises of a round facet cut stopper, resting in a flared pouring lip, with gilded bronze Betjemann’s patent lock with original key with PATENT stamped into the lock, falling down onto a facet panel cut neck with, with chamfered sides that have had grooves cut into the sides with two different designs of cut applied to the sides, resting on a flat star cut base.
Condition Report
The condition of the glass decanter is good with a minute flee bite on the underside of the neck and the bottom of the peg on the stopper with some minute traces of sediment in the bottom of the decanter which can be easily removed.
